The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers held its annual presentation ceremony at London’s Apothecaries’ Hall last week.
WCSM master Felicity Harding presented certificates and diplomas in optical support, optical retail skills, optical care and optical technicians, plus freedom declarations.
Adrian Baxter was awarded with the annual Wiseman Memorial Prize, praised for his very high marks in the gold standard of optical manufacturing exams.
He said: ‘I just love studying and the course re-ignited my passion for learning. I got a lot out of the training particularly understanding about the physics and some quite abstract concepts. The qualification has given me the knowledge and confidence to explain to colleagues some of the questions we face on a daily basis in practice.’
Freedoms, meanwhile, were granted to Joanne Abbott, Susan Bennett, Sue Clark, Laura Hing, David Murray, Christopher Trundle and Angela Williams.
