HELEN_PicHelen Perkins has been appointed as The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers’ 24th clerk, it’s chief executive officer.

Perkins formally takes over from present clerk John Salmon at a Court Meeting on June 2.

She has over 25 years' experience as a chartered company secretary in industries ranging from investment management to space satellite manufacture. Her personal interests include music, swimming, visiting historic buildings, going to the theatre and enjoying good food and wine.

‘Prevention and treatment of visual impairment is just as important now as it was to the 17th century spectacle makers who founded the livery company,’ said Perkins. ‘I am very pleased to have the opportunity to put my professional skills and experience to use as the new clerk.’
