Zeiss builds on Cirrus success

Carl Zeiss UK is launching a new family of Cirrus OCT products, expanding the portfolio from its successful Cirrus instrument.

Alongside two new Cirrus OCT products are two integrated OCT and retinal imaging systems. The new Cirrus HD-OCT 5000 builds on existing Cirrus functionality and will now include retinal ganglion cell complex measurements (thinning in this area is an important indicator of possible glaucomatous progression), advanced analysis of the retinal pigment epithelium, and enhanced retinal tracking. Tracking ensures that there is a steady measurement from the eye, avoiding errors due to eye movements and also making sure that serial measurements may be compared without the risk of variation due to a different point of reference.
