Anyone attending this year's Optrafair could not have helped but be enthused by the optimism on show or be impressed by the quality of the eyewear, equipment and education on display. But there is a more enduring legacy too.
Optrafair 2013 in Birmingham has cemented its place in optical history as the birthplace of Optrafair 2014 in London (April 11-13) but Optician wants to ensure Optrafair can also be enjoyed by those who didn't make it to the event too.
In the pages of Optician over the coming weeks will be found a run down of the frames, lenses, contact lenses, equipment, services and much more on offer. Optician's eyewear style guru, Simon Jones, clearly enjoyed the opportunity to get to grips with the best on offer in the frame area in his first report (page 16). Fun of the fair is a first glimpse of the styles making their way onto the frame displays of the nation's practices and offers a good insight into current trends.
