It's always nice to be able to report some good news and despite the continued doom and gloom in the high street there is plenty for optics to be happy about.
Hot on the heels of news from Retail Week that opticians are going out of business less quickly than other high street concerns, come some positive noises from the optical employers. Anyone who has university age children will be well aware of the depression that currently surrounds those at university or thinking of entering tertiary education. Not only do 17- and 18-year-olds have to worry about getting their qualifications, they also have to wrestle with the finances of education and the costs of university town living.
