So farewell then to the traditional light bulb.

What would Eddison say to the phasing out of artificial light so warm it burns like the setting sun.

The EU has decided that rather than a clear evacuated bulb with a filiment of tungsten a dingy, Mercury encrusted spiral sat on an electronic ballast is less impactful to the environment.

Three years ago the 100W was outlawed, in 2010 the 75W ( who bought those). Last September the 60W and at the beginning of this month the 40W and the 25W ( must be a relation to the 75W).

The light has gone out on the 3,000 Kelvin light bulb for the cool and slow to heat compacts.
