Your readers should know that it is a matter of fact that Charles Kennedy MP supported my campaign for the PD measurement to be added to customer's prescription. The editor of Optician already knows this as I provided him with a copy of Mr Kennedy's letter prior to publication.
With a General Election approaching it now appears that not only Charles Kennedy but the entire Liberal Democrat party is prepared to sell the British glasses-wearing public down the river to protect opticians' high street monopoly and their over-priced glasses.
This should be a matter for rejoicing among the UK's 23,000 registered optical professionals and will make voting on May 6 a simple choice. It should also make voting straightforward for the rest of the electorate who have had enough of unfair and anti-competitive optical regulations and two-faced politicians.
