Despite its fun image the frame business isn't renowned for doing exciting or whacky things with the press. I was intruiged then to sign for a parcel carrying a Safilo logo recently. Obviously my initial thoughts were that the parcel contained a pair of sunglasses or a new designer range until the parcel began to rattle.
Inside was a bottle which contained a fully formed frame. Within the box were an aged letter dated May 20 1970 and a science magazine. All this was a mock up of a mad scientist's discovery of a new material, Optyl, tea stains and all..
