Recently one of my patients turned up requesting an eye test as his internet contact lens provider required his current spectacle prescription. I pointed out that he had had an eye examination only 10 months ago and he had been given a copy of his prescription at that stage. If he had no problems with his eyes he did not really need to go through another eye examination for no good reason.

I gave the patient a copy of his spectacle prescription, repeating that it was not necessary to give this to his internet supplier.
