Rory McIlroy brings laser surgery to the fore

It is difficult to determine whether pictures posted on social media this week by a top golfer who underwent laser eye surgery are a good advert for the procedure or not.

Contact lens wearer Rory McIlroy is looking to sharpen up his vision on the greens following the surgery, and posted this picture on Instagram. As a matter of routine he was asked to wear protective lenses overnight to protect the eyes.

However, the sellotaped down 'human version of the K-9 cone', does not exactly paint a glamorous picture of the procedure, especially considering the multiple Major winner is unlikely to have cut many corners on cost.
