Equipment and instrument highlight on show at 100% Optical this coming March
ES800 edger

EssilorLuxottica

Edging solutions take centre stage in the equipment section of the EssilorLuxottica booth at 100% Optical. The new ES800 edger works in conjunction with the automatic TBC 800, tracer, centerer and blocker unit.

A hybrid version, the ES 800M combines tracing and blocking into one machine. EssilorLuxottica says the new units offer improved cycle times, with centring and blocking time reduced by 20%, optical tracing time reduced by 75% and thanks to the implementation of a fast-roughing cycle, edging time is 19% faster. Optimised axis technology helps with slippery hydrophobic coatings or delicate lenses to prevent axis deviation.

Zeiss

New artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been added to Zeiss Cirrus OCT and 100% Optical delegates will be among the first to try it for themselves. The AI image assessment tool has been designed to enable more confident decision making and accelerate their OCT workflow, says Zeiss. Using proprietary deep learning algorithms, the AI-based technology streamlines the review of large volumes of OCT data by identifying scans that may require closer review – supporting early disease detection and enhanced patient care. Visitors can pre-book a demo at www.zeiss.ly/AI-OCT.

Topcon

The new Eye-Light device from Topcon provides non-invasive, light-based photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy for age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness in the developed world. PBM stimulates cellular repair, slowing disease progression and preserving vision, specifically targeting AREDS 3 and lower classifications. This cutting-edge solution enhances patient outcomes and boosts practice profitability. Targeted red (630nm) and yellow (590nm) wavelengths inhibit inflammation, restore cellular health, and reduce VEGF expression. The company says PBM and Eye-Light elevates patient care and positions practices at the forefront of ophthalmology innovation.

Grafton Optical

Grafton Optical will launch RetiCam 3100 Plus, an ultra-wide-field fundus camera from Syseye, at the show. RetiCam features a 176° single-shot imaging field, which the company says provides the widest field of view currently available. This allows eye care professionals to capture more of the retina in a single image than any other device, enabling faster and more accurate diagnosis and treatment. The device uses traditional white light imaging to provide true-colour HD images with a single click. Non-mydriatic operation eliminates the need for pupil dilation, enhancing patient comfort and streamlining the imaging process. Soft exposure technology minimises pupil constriction after exposure, and AI-powered system enables highly precise positioning for quick fundus image acquisition.
