Optician picks out some of the highlights from exhibitors great and small at 100% Optical, which will be held at Excel London from February 24-26

Contact lenses

Alcon

On stand B430, Alcon will launch its Total30 multifocal contact lenses and showcase its Water Surface Lenses offering, including the Total and Prescision ranges (pictured top). Alcon has also sponsored peer review sessions on vision, comfort and choice for astigmatic patients, and how to engage contact lens patients, as well as a discussion workshop on dry eye.

Bausch + Lomb 

Show attendees will be asked to see through the eyes of a presbyope with an interactive experience at stand M400 and learn about its Ultra and ZenLens brands. Petra Vacca, B+L cluster head of vision care UKI & Nordics, said: ‘We’re looking forward to engaging with many eye care professionals (ECPs) to inspire you to upgrade your offerings to presbyopic patients.’

Coopervision

Visitors to stand L320 are promised a fun and interactive experience, alongside CPD opportunities and the chance to find out the results from CooperVision’s Fresh Thinking survey. The company will share survey insights and details about a subsequent roundtable with ECPs and a patient discussion group.

Johnson & Johnson Vision

The Johnson & Johnson Vision team will showcase its range of Acuvue multifocal contact lenses with pupil optimised design at stand L114, as well as an interactive game that demonstrates the 183 parameters available. The company will highlight how it supports professional development and its sustainability credentials from source to final consumer disposal.

Safilens

On stand L304, Safilens will showcase its Fusion Presbyo contact lens that it says offers a smoother surface with natural, quick and constant stabilisation. The company will also highlight the benefits of its Delivery Tyro contact lens, which is designed to help normalise ocular development.

 

Instruments

Zeiss

100% Optical will be the UK launch of the new Zeiss Atlas 500 corneal topographer (pictured below). This state-of-the-art solution offers precise corneal topography, pupillometry and dry eye assessment – all in a single device. Try it on stand M300, along with the full suite of diagnostic solutions for your retina and glaucoma patients.

Topcon

Topcon will feature its new NW500 non-mydriatic retinal camera, Myah for myopia and dry eye disease (DED) management, Chronos and Solos for compact refraction, and LM/LLLT treatments for DED delivered by Eye-light.

Also available to view, on stands M120/M220, will be the company’s OCT portfolio, all integrated with Harmony, Topcon’s vendor-neutral secure data management platform.

 

Mainline instruments

Mainline intends to offer attendees the chance to discover the future of optical technology at 100% Optical on stand M330.

The company will be demonstrating the latest innovations from Oculus, iCare, Huvitz, Tomey and Optomed for myopia management, anterior segment analysis, retinal imaging/OCT, tonometers and more.

Mainline will also be promoting exclusive show offers.

 

 

 

Heidelberg Engineering

In addition to displaying the Anterion and Spectralis multimodal imaging platforms on stand B110, Heidelberg Engineering will present two interactive CPD-accredited lectures as part of the seminar programme.

Two different workshops will be delivered by Tim Cole, clinical affairs manager at Heidelberg Engineering, covering the topics of artificial intelligence and OCT analysis.

 

EssilorLuxottica

In terms of instruments, EssilorLuxottica will offer visitors to stand W125 the chance to discover new launches for 2024 including the ES 700/800 edger ranges, and recent innovations such as the Vision-S and Vision-R 800.

In addition, new equipment from Essilor’s distribution partners including Medmont Meridia Topographer & Medmont Perimeter and Takagi slit lamps will be showcased.

Grafton Optical

Grafton Optical has announced an exclusive offer for delegates attending 100% Optical 2024. Two cutting-edge handheld devices, the Tono-Vera Handheld Tonometer from Reichert and the QuickSee Free Handheld Autorefractor from PlenOptika, will be in a prize draw. Attendees at stand M440 will be able to enter by booking a demonstration and by sharing relevant social media posts.

 BIB

 As well as special show pricing offers at stand M100, BIB will be offering attendees the opportunity to win   an Optopol Revo FC OCT.

 Other show launches will include SK-MED’s new high specification Digital LED Slit Lamp SL-5C, which   incorporates an automated dry eye analyser, and the Medmont Meridia Topographer, which is described as   a new multimodal instrument providing limbus to limbus coverage.

 

Birmingham Optical

Birmingham Optical will be exhibiting new products on stand M200, including the Nidek TS-610 tabletop refraction system, which has three tier functionalities and offers space saving and self-refraction.

The company will demonstrate the Nidek AL Scan & OCT alongside traditional phoropters, slit lamps and combi units. Nidek laboratory equipment featuring the robotic handling unit will also be on display.

 

Haag-Streit

Haag-Streit will be exhibiting on stand M240 in the 100% Ophthalmology area of 100% Optical.

Some key products will be showcased including the Eyesi Slit Lamp simulator, Eyestar swept-source OCT & biometer, Lenstar Myopia, Solix OCT system, and the BQ 900 slit lamp with IM 910 imaging. The company will also be running an Eyesi slit lamp simulator competition on the stand.

Caledonian Optical

Caledonian Optical invites attendees to explore its expanded laboratory through a virtual tour at 100% Optical. There will also be opportunities to engage with IOT, Caledonian’s digital lens design partner, for insights into the latest innovative lens products and a hands-on session on lens care advice. Find them at stand E120.

Seiko

Seiko will be displaying its Vision Xperience Centre, which offers advanced patient consultations, lens demonstrations and ultra-precise measurements at stand W150. The company says it not only accelerates and simplifies the measurement process but also creates a memorable experience within the customer’s journey.

 Jai Kudo Lenses

Jai Kudo Lenses will be showcasing the latest virtual reality technology, Kudos, at stand W100. The Kudos VR Headset intelligently captures the exact way a patient looks at objects and the world around them to create a truly bespoke progressive lens.

 

 

 

 

Nikon

Nikon Lenswear UK will be showcasing an exciting and unique innovation in lens coating, alongside its complete portfolio of light management solutions. For the second year running, Nikon will also be hosting the Independent Studio Bar, highlighting their unparalleled support for luxury independent businesses and bringing the community of independents in optics together. Nikon Lenswear UK will be at Stand E130 and the Independent Studio Bar.

Eyewear

Modo

Eco Eyewear’s new Retrospect collection, stand E12, combines the lightweight and sustainable qualities of injection material derived from castor seed oil with the aesthetic of acetate. Women’s frame Lily, unisex shape Reed and men’s Forrest feature classic hinge designs, metal temple cores with discreet patterns and frame pin-shaped magnets. Retro-inspired colourways include soft pinks, refreshing greens and timeless tortoiseshell.

Blackfin

On stand E282, the Italian dons on titanium eyewear manufacturing will present four new shapes in the slim and shapely Pacific collection.

The manufacturer’s expertise has allowed for the creation of ultra-thin silhouettes from a 3mm block of titanium. Shapes like the Mavericks represent soft expressions of classic eyewear shapes like the aviator.

Etnia Barcelona

The new SS24 collection showing at 100% Optical has been inspired by underwater worlds and combines a palette of translucent tones said to mimic reflections of light in the water. Elsewhere on stand W140, expect to see solid colours inspired by underwater flora and fauna.

Einstoffen

Traders and Makers, the UK distributors for Swiss brand Einstoffen, will premiere the Raw & Nobile collection at the event on stand E156.

Bold, oversize sunglass, Courtier, is one of the highlights. Voluminous acetate has been carved away on the frame’s front to not only reduce the overall weight, but to add interesting step detailing as well.

Bird Eyewear

Whether navigating urban landscapes or exploring the tropics, the newly designed Geo in plant-based colours promises to connect you to nature. Meticulously-handcrafted from bio-acetate with five-barrel sprung hinges for flexibility and fully adjustable temples, the over-sized cat-eye frame, said to be comfortable to wear and a pleasure to dispense, can be viewed at stand E113.

Prodesign Denmark

Residing with the Design Eyewear Group on stand E320, ProDesign Demark will show several new collections.

The new Lined range has been designed for women looking for a strong sense of design with subtle detailing.

Each frame in the collection sports engraved lines that flow around the silhouette and temples, providing subtle visual interest without creating too much fuss.

JS Optical

Vibrant colour combinations will catch the eye at stand D11, where Johann Von Goissern’s latest SS24 arrivals will be displayed along with the full hand-crafted collection from Austria.

Visitors can also preview the new 12-piece Essentials range at stand D23 – offering male, female and unisex styles in metal and acetate.

Miscellaneous

The Body Doctor

A dry eye revolution has been promised at stand B162 after the Body Doctor partnered with Advanced Ophthalmic Systems (AOS) to help practices become fully functional dry eye clinics within 30 days.

AOS software is said to help practitioners better manage patients using digital images and analytic tools to track progress.

Kodes

At stand D43, Kodes will showcase eyewear chains alongside jewellery and oil diffusers created by Morena Fiore. Expect vibrant, bold chains that have been designed to help the wearer express their individuality and make a statement.

Pop Specs

Fresh off its success on Dragons’ Den, Pop Specs will highlight franchise opportunities for optometrists and dispensing opticians as the company looks to become a leading brand for purchasing eyewear with quick turnaround times. Find them at stand W174.
