Spectrum Thea Pharmaceuticals has introduced Blephagel Airless, a new paraben-free gel formulation to its range for blepharitis.

The treatment adds to the range that includes Blephasol and Blephaclean and being paraben- and perfume-free the company said it was suitable for sensitive skin, eyelids and eyes. The gel formation gave an effective mechanical action with better adherence to crusts and debris, and gently dissolves to remove debris and secretions from the eyelash root, as well as hydrating, softening and soothing inflamed eyelids and bringing a refreshing sensation.

'In the same way as both Blephasol and Blephaclean work, Blephagel Airless also uses the mechanism adsorption, which means that patients don't have to aggressively rub and scratch their eyes to remove debris and crusts,' said Spectrum Thea.
