Cubitts has joined a list of 1,000 UK businesses after it was awarded a B Corporation certification based on its efforts to meet social and environmental standards.
The certification was awarded after an analysis of how Cubitts operated in the areas of governance, workers, community, environment and customers.
Tom Broughton, founder of Cubitts, said: ‘B Corp certification is one point on our journey to become a progressive, inclusive and sustainable business. It's a great achievement, but it is only the start. We have a range of goals around being a better business, and being B Corp certified is a great framework within which to achieve them.’
Efforts at Cubitts to become more sustainable included its frame rehab for spectacles repairs, its Redux range of frame made from recycled offcuts and its Anew donation service. The independent group of practices reduced water usage in 2023 by 99% and aimed to reduce its water usage further by changing its glazing manufacturing methods.
