Growth at contact lens manufacturer Daysoft has led to the recruitment of staff and expansion at its Blantyre factory in Scotland.

Ten new production staff have joined the company and work on the foundations for a new building and access road at its manufacturing facility was completed last week – the company’s third expansion in four years.

Daysoft chairman and founder Ron Hamilton said: ‘We are continuing to experience solid sales and profit growth again this year but the greatest business satisfaction comes from being able to increase the Daysoft team.

‘Our building expansion is in anticipation of continued growth into 2014 and this building investment is just one part of our £1.2m capital spending programme for 2013.
