Daily disposable contact lens company daysoft has teamed up with Polaroid to sell sunglasses and plans to launch the first collection next month.
The announcement follows the news (reported in Optician last week) that sales from the daysoft website jumped by 78 per cent to over £1m in the first quarter of this year compared to 2006.
daysoft executive chairman Ron Hamilton said the deal with Polaroid represented a new dimension to the online shopping experience and expressed delight to have teamed up with a 'leading name that consumers can trust'.
He said: 'The new deal represents a Scottish manufacturing success story. We make daysoft lenses in our own state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hamilton and Polaroid makes the lenses for its sunglasses at its Dumbarton plant.'
