Over 100 independent practitioners attended the first Independents Day at the National Motorcycle Museum on July 4 and plans are already under way for a 2006 event.
The event, organised by training company Proven Track Record (PTR), gave delegates the chance to gain a total of eight continuing education and training points and discount vouchers to the value of over £2,000.
Feedback questionnaires showed that 93 per cent of delegates felt the day met or exceeded their expectations and a further 84 per cent said they intended to support a second event. 'We achieved our objectives and have hit on a formula that confirms our view that an event of this kind fulfils an unmet need in the CET marketplace,' said PTR director Nick Atkins.
'Combining the clinical theme with communication and marketing was very well received and nobody else does that in the marketplace. If you're not a good businessman you don't get the opportunity to be a good clinician,' he said.
Atkins and co-directors Brian Collison and David Goad are now in discussions for next year's event, which is booked at the same venue on the same date and will go by the same name.
'We will probably focus on a more commercial theme next time, although we still want to do clinical lectures,' added Atkins.
