Optometrist Robert Frith (above)competed on behalf of Sight Savers International in April's London Marathon and helped to raise a total of £10,000 for the charity.

'I am staggered by the generosity and support of patients, industry and friends and can't thank them enough,' he said.
Another marathon competitor was locum optometrist Eric Benjamin, who works at independent group Robert Stanley Opticians. He ran the 26 miles in five hours 58 minutes to raise money for charity Fight for Sight.
