Optometrists Amar Shah (Boots Opticians) and Allannah Gaffney (Carrdiff University and Robert Frith Optometrists) have just returned from a seven-day trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, the world's highest freestanding mountain. In so doing they hope to raise money for research into a common eye disease.
'We undertook this challenge to raise awareness of macular disease and funds for the Macular Disease Society, who provide valuable support for people with central vision loss,' said Shah. 'We were accompanied by six fellow fundraisers, three of whom have hereditary maculopathy.'
