Optical practice Carmelo Castoglione Opticians has signed up to become part of the Kodak Lens Vision Centre network. Local optometrist Carmelo Castoglione, who purchased R Stones Opticians in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, said: 'Retaining the independence of my practice is very important for me and my business. During the opening process the practice gave away goodie bags and balloons reportedly attracting 300 visitors.
The Joint Optical Committee for the European Union (JOCEU) has appointed Kevin Milsom as its chairman. Accompanying Milsom is the outgoing president of the College of Optometrists, Dr Cindy Tromans, who has joined JOCEU as vice chairman. The three-year posts of chairman and vice chairman alternate between a dispensing optician and an optometrist.
