Plymouth MP Fred Thomas has visited a local eye clinic and surgical centre to see how it provided care to thousands of patients every year.
Fred Thomas met with doctors and staff at Plymouth Newmedica to learn how the service looked after the community’s eye health as well as helping reduce NHS waiting times and providing patient choice.
‘It was great to visit Plymouth Newmedica to see first-hand the eye care that is being delivered by the team and chat to patients about the difference having timely access to care makes to them,’ said the Labour MP.
He also heard about how the team trained new health workers and partnered with primary care opticians to ensure access to care in the community.
Amanda Worley, operations director, remarked: ‘It was a pleasure to see Mr Thomas so engaged with our staff and for him to hear of the work we do to support the NHS.’
