Romanian vision project appeals for frames

An appeal has been made for donations to an optical charity operating in Romania.

Retired optometrist Chris Calow, along with wife Pat, has been visiting Romania since 2004 in order to carry out a charitable vision project, based in the village of Tileagd, 10 miles east of the city of Oradea.

‘The majority of people we see are supplied with new frames and lenses, most of which are manufactured in our workshop at Tileagd,’ said Calow. ‘The more complicated prescriptions are brought back to the UK where the other member of the team, Howard Dick, manufactures them.’
