Certificates, prizes and company freedoms were presented by the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers at its annual ceremony in central London this week.
The event, held at Skinners’ Hall following a structural issue at the company’s Apothecaries’ Hall headquarters, granted 12 new freedoms and awarded 25 certificates for optical technicians, practice support and spectacle manufacturing.
Victoria Warner, from Flint & Partners Eyecare in Wolverhampton, won best performance in the Level 2 examination for optical customer service and Michael Ward the highest score in the written papers in Year 2 of the SMC Tech Level 4 course. Ward also won the Wiseman Memorial Trust Prize for the best practical examination result in Year 2 of the same course.
