Mido has reported final attendance figures of 42,000 visitors. The three-day show (March 5-7) attracted similar numbers to the four-day exhibition in 2009.

Organisers said that results for the 2010 show far exceeded expectations in light of the worldwide slump. 'The show opened amid moderate optimism and closed confirming that initial sentiment, substantiated by hard numbers,' they said. There were more than 1,100 exhibitors occupying five pavilions and attendance over the three days peaked on the Friday, up 27.5 per cent.

'Mido once again confirmed its vital role for industry, the not-to-be-missed eyewear event worldwide,' said the organisers. They added that the show, which reached 40 this year, was described by exhibitors as the best in recent years as well as satisfying the needs of first-time exhibitors.
