A GOC fitness to practise committee has told student OO Talha Hassan that he can return to training.

Hassan was suspended for nine months in 2009 after it was alleged that he failed to declare a police conviction for fraud by misrepresentation in retention applications in 2009 and 2010.

At the time, the committee said that Hassan had pretended to be injured in a road traffic accident and subsequently made a false claim to an insurance company. Conditional registration orders were imposed in June and December 2014.

The committee said the registrant had shown real progress and reports from supervisors had been positive. It added that he had shown impressive reliance with the conditions imposed on him.
