Tour de Specsavers complete

Specsavers joint managing director John Perkins was among 15 of the multiple's staff that completed two 55-mile charity rides around London recently. The challenge, dubbed the 'Tour de Specsavers' by the company, raised more than £1,000 for charity Volunteer Reading Help, which helps children in London who have difficulty reading.

Shak Hinari, spokesperson for Specsavers, said: 'Everyone at the stores was very excited about our fundraising day, as it is great to be able to raise awareness for such an important cause.' Specsavers said its Greater London practices have pledged to collect over £25,000 for the charity by the beginning of the 2012 autumn term.
