Former General Optical Council registrar Richard Wilshin is to return to the profession as general secretary of the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians. Mr Wilshin, who retired from the GOC after 15 years last November, is a solicitor and an authority on optical regulation. He will take up his new position on September 17. FMO chairman Kingsley Sleep said the organisation would welcome Mr Wilshin. ÔHis vast knowledge and experience within optics will be a huge asset to us and I very much look forward to working with him.Õ
