World Sight Day Challenge

Optometry Giving Sight has announced the launch of its annual fundraising campaign – the World Sight Day Challenge.

In its 13th year, the challenge was established to support children who are blind or visually impaired due to lack of access to eye care and resources. Optometrists, patients and students were encouraged to get involved through increased awareness and giving donations.

‘It is estimated that as much as 80% of what a child learns is processed through the visual system. An eye examination and glasses can mean the difference between a life of poverty and a life of opportunity,’ said chair of Optometry Giving Sight Juan Carlos Aragon.
