One story that caught the imagination in this week's journal was the ongoing journey a Dorset optometrist has had offering NHS tests.
Finally though, practitioner Jane Fisher can offer NHS-funded eye examinations, bringing much needed care to a number of towns. An additional door has been added to the bus (see below) in order to meet PCT health and safety requirements.
This, together with blacked-out windows and a ramp, means the eye bus has met every challenge thrown in front of it. And although full PCT backing has been 18 months in the making, Fisher is finally on the open road.
