Optician was buoyed yesterday by a visit to the Vision UK 2014 conference in London, where a broad spectrum of lectures, presentations and forums showed UK Vision Strategy 2013-18 has made an impressive start.
Eye tests for the homeless, school screening, seeing patients with learning disabilities, dementia and diabetes were all on the agenda and progress was evident.
Organisers also made every effort to ensure the event was inclusive for the many Guide Dogs in attendance (see picture below).
The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre was a fitting venue to bid farewell to two personalities key to this progress – Nick Astbury and Anita Lightstone.
